On June 8th, the first industrial application unit of Sinopec's third-generation aromatics technology, Jiujiang Petrochemical's 890000 tons/year aromatics combined unit, was successfully put into operation and produced qualified products. The device adopts the third-generation aromatics technology with independent intellectual property rights of Sinopec, which has the advantages of low investment cost, low energy consumption, and high catalyst application efficiency. The energy consumption of the device is less than 220 kilograms of standard oil/ton PX, reducing energy consumption by 30% compared to similar aromatics devices and reaching the international leading level.

As a key project in the national industrial layout, the Jiujiang Petrochemical aromatics project is the first large-scale aromatics project in central China. Its completion and operation will play an important role in promoting the rise of central China and leveraging the development of the integrated refining and chemical industry chain; Its successful operation also marks that China's complete set of aromatics technology has reached the international leading level, significantly improving China's aromatics production technology level and international competitiveness, and laying the foundation for building local industrial clusters worth over 100 billion yuan.
